Prince was on the board of directors for the WTS
by Barrold Bonds ini was talking with a friend of mine who knows a few people in the home department at bethel.
apparently, prince was, as i noted in the title, on the board of directors.
he apparently was sort of a silent partner or advisor in the whole thing.

Actually, Prince was one in a group that remixed the kingdom melodies. The gb was not impressed and asked that they destroy all the recordings. It was posted in this forum years ago. -

George Cook former DO, now just an elder at Prince's home congregation KH
by oppostate ingeorge cook, omg, george f'ing cook, whattttt!.
caption: elder george cook (right), one of the nine elders of the small 90-person congregation, said prince regularly ‘witnessed’ alone in the community and in groups.
he was very detail oriented and very eccentric.

Hmm, a former DO assigned to a congregation with 8 elders already...
HQ may have arranged for wealthy locals to help him out...
No doubt receiving "gifts of mercy"...
Decides a drug addiction is a "personal matter"...
SPIDER SENSE TINGLING!!!

If Prince had an addiction to prescriptions drugs, it's a personal matter but if I want to grow a beard or attend college, it's not.
by ToesUp ininteresting article i found about prince and the jw religion.
i guess they are trying to get their 15 minutes of fame.
i find it disturbing that the elder stated if prince had an addiction to prescription drugs, that is a personal matter but the hundreds of intrusive jw rules like going to college (not scriptural) and growing a beard (also not scriptural) are not also considered a personal choice.

He refused to have a hip replacement because it required a blood transfusion. More will be revealed with autopsy results but it sounds like he was in a lot of pain. Pills may have seemed to be the lesser of two evils...

Under WT rules, can JW women file for a divorce? Or can only men file?
by JimmyPage inthe reason i ask is because while watching the "dateline" episode about ralph candelario, the claim was made that only jw men could file for divorce, not women.
.
i had never thought about this before.. also, how does this apply in cases where a husband is "apostate" while the wife is faithful to wt?

She pressured her husband to file for divorce not because he was male but because he was an unbeliever. If he filed, the congregation could assume he (the evil, Satan-controlled worldling) committed adultery and she would be free to marry Psychobrother. -

Just a few more...

TheOldHippie - catholics and evangelicals don't have Christ as head of their congregations and the guidance of the holy spirit like the jdubs do, isn't that what you believe?
So this man murders his first wife, years later remarries, plots to kill his second wife while having a mistress and cover it up. Why doesn't he just get a divorce? He's afraid of getting df'd. True, even if he got df'd he could eventually be reinstated, but if armaggedon were to come while he was df'd, well OldHippie, you and I both know what would happen don't we? He's human hotdog. Better to try to get away with murder so you're still in good standing when the Big A comes. Crazy line of thinking? Of course.
But think: if only there was a supernatural force that can read hearts and minds, and could warn the congregation about this guy (and pedophiles, rapists, conmen, etc.), two women would still be alive and well today. A son and 2 daughters would still have their mothers...
So there it is, that's what's so special. Only the jdubs have the disfellowshipping/shunning/armaggedon/only divinely-approved religion dynamic that produces this kind of crazy.
Also, there is not just one murder. It just so happens it's the only one that was interesting enough and public enough to get media attention.

Embellished assembly interviews/"experiences"
by ab.ortega inoh how wonderful those experiences at assemblies and "schools" are - not.
at times it seemed as if these "experiences" were scripted.
the speaker gets criteria in the outline regarding what the experience or interview has to be about.

ttdtt - it is.
It came at a time where consolidations were being made and every branch wanted to outdo the other by getting their experience in the yearbook. This led to exaggerations and the regurgitating of old experiences. To their credit, hq tried to put a stop to it.
